White pulls out of Henney rematch by Tom Hebert, FightNews Canada 2009-11-12 This Friday the 13th in Edmonton, former world champion Jelena Mrdjenovich (23-4-1, 11KOs) will be looking for redemption when she takes on Ann Saccurato, the WBC Lightweight champion. Saccurato (14-4-2, 6KOs) defeated Mrdjenovich back in Edmonton almost 3 years to the day by split decision. Both fighters will enter the rematch after suffering defeats, Mrdjenovich lost her WBC Super Featherweight crown in an upset to Olivia Gerula back in April while Saccurato was defeated by Myriam Lemare in a bid to capture the WBF Light Welterweight title. The Undercard was to have featured the anticipated rubber match between Canadian Cruiserweight champion Frank White and former champ Ryan Henney. Unfortunately, White (7-2-1, 5KOs) has pulled out due to a partial torn rotator cuff in his left arm. Henney (13-3, 8KOs) will now face David Whitom (10-10-1, 6KOs) who fights out of Quebec City. One fighter who couldn't be happier fighting on Friday the 13th is Anthony Lessard. Lessard (7-5-2, 5KOs) has informed everyone that there will be blood in his rematch with Darren Kenny. Kenny (5-27-2, 3KOs), who fights out of Winnipeg, holds a victory over Lessard, having decisioned him back in June 2004 in Lessard's second pro bout. Also on the card will be Lightweight prospect Ayana Pelletier (6-1, 4KOs) taking on a much improved Lindsay Garbatt (3-2, 3KOs) of Coutrice, Ontario.
