2010-07-09 The World's #1 ranked Jr. Middleweight contender Alfredo “Perro” Angulo (18-1, 15KOs) hosted a Los Angeles Media Workout on Wednesday at the Fortune Gym in Hollywood, Calif. Angulo is preparing for his upcoming bout against Canadian and former WBA Jr. Middleweight champion Joachim Alcine (32-1, 19KOs) on July 17th at Agua Caliente Casino • Resort • Spa in Rancho Mirage, California. The two will battle it out for the vacant WBC Continental Americas Light Middleweight title. The contest is also being deemed as a WBC World title eliminator. Here are some comments from the hard punching Alfredo on what he expects from Alcine come fight nite: "I have kept up my same routine as I would with any fight. I’m working hard. The only thing that has changed in training camp is I brought in Daryl Hudson, my strength and conditioning coach. With Daryl’s training I feel great strength in my legs and arms. I’m also much faster now." "I plan to pressure Alcine in the ring. I’m going to force him to fight. Alcine runs in the ring but all fighters do." "Alcine is a great fighter. He has only one defeat and that was against a great fighter." "After Alcine, I don’t have a preference. I’ll fight whoever can give me a great fight."
