![]() Clampitt to face Holm TONIGHT! (Source: CES Press Release) 2010-08-06 Jaime "Hurricane" Clampitt will face her toughest test to date tonight when she battles Holly Holm for the vacant IBA Female Junior Welterweight world title at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Clampitt (27-4-1, 7 KOs), born in Saskatchewan, Canada, and now fighting out of Warwick, R.I., is seeking her fifth world title and her third consecutive victory overall since returning to the ring following a 1 1/2-year layoff to give birth to her first child. Since making her comeback in November of 2009, Clampitt has beaten Rachel Clark and Jill Emery who entered those respective bouts with a combined record of 13-4-1. Holm, an Albuquerque native, has won five consecutive fights since a draw against Mary Jo Sanders in October of 2008. Holm (27-1-3, 7 KOs) is a former IBA Light Welterweight, WBA Female Welterweight, IFBA Light Middleweight, IFBA Welterweight and WBC Female Welterweight champion. She recently won the WIBA Light Welterweight title in March with a unanimous decision victory over Chevelle Hallback. Clampitt is in pursuit of her first world championship since beating Belinda Laracuente for the IWBF Lightweight title in March of 2008 -- also her last fight before her maternity leave. "I know Holly and I will put on a great show for the fans and I expect to take the title back home to Canada and Rhode Island," Clampitt said.
