![]() Revenge or Repeat for Kielsa-Pajkic? by Dave Baggs, FightNews Canada 2010-06-30 Tonight under the bright lights of Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario, former Canadian heavyweight champion Greg Kielsa will attempt to regain his championship strap from the man who took it away from him, one Neven Pajkic. Will it be repeat or revenge for The Steel Pole. Historically speaking, the odds show little in determining the fate of the former national champion Kielsa. Patrice L'Heureux lost his crown to fellow Quebecer David Cadieux when he was stopped in the 7th round back in May 2005. The rematch also went Cadieux's way by decision 6 months later. Nanaimo, BC's Shane Sutcliffe was surprisingly stopped by the late Trevor Berbick in the final round of their initial encounter (Feb 1999), then on home soil, dropped a 12 round decision to the one time WBC heavyweight champion 15 months later. Those who were successful in defeating their nemesis in the rematch were none other than George Chuvalo and Bob Cleroux. Chuvalo, the reigning Canadian heavweight champion in 1960, dropped a split decision to Bob Cleroux in Montreal. The rematch, just under 3 months later, went Chuvalo's way at the famed Montreal forum by way of decision. Cleroux would have the last laugh, defeated the legendary Chuvalo to complete the trilogy. Kielsa, just 3 months removed from the Pajkic defeat, will look to add his name along side of legends in Chuvalo and Cleroux as the man who avenged defeat and regained the biggest prize in Canadian pro boxing. All he has to do is defeat a man who is known throughout the country as "No Surrender".
