McGuinness destroys Banos in first! by John Robbins, FightNews Canada 2010-07-10 Undefeated Super Featherweight prospect Logan McGuinness (11-0-1, 5KOs) destroyed Jorge Banos, dropping the Quebec champ twice and forcing the ref to stop the fight. At the same time as the referee made his decision, so did Banos' corner as they threw the white towel into the ring. McGuinness landed vicious body shots at will and just whooped Banos (6-7-3) from pillar to post. In a battle of undefeated Cruiserweights, Mississauga’s Denton Daley kept his winning streak intact, scoring a unanimous decision victory over Montreal's Pasteur Mbuyi. Daley’s devastating power showed itself once again early in the second round, bringing the crowd at the Hershey Centre into a frenzy as Mbuyi clearly hit the deck from an uppercut however the referee did not acknowledge the knockdown. Daley displayed a veteran’s poise from there on in, outboxing his Montreal counterpart for the duration of the bout. Official scores read 39-37 (twice) and 39-36. Daley improves to 3-0 (1KO) while Mbuyi drops to 2-1. Orangeville, Ontario’s Ryan Wagner stopped Chris Aucion at the 0:36 second mark of the 3rd round in a 4 round light middleweight contest. The ever ready Aucion was brutally dropped in the opening round, and rocked hard in the 2nd round, before an exclamation mark of a right hand stopped the action for good in the third round! Wagner improves to 2-0 (1KO) while Aucoin slips to 3-4-1. In the opening bout of the evening at the latest instalment of United Promotions 2010 Pro Boxing Series, Jonas Pierce was awarded a unanimous decision over Horace Hunter (0-2) in a 4 round Light heavyweight bout. Scores of the bout read 39-37 across the board in favor of Pierce, who was making his pro debut. The Hershey Centre faithful gave the officials an earful, obviously feeling that Hunter had done more than enough to achieve victory.
